Rick Nelson released "Teen Age Idol", written by Jack Lewis, in July 1962 (Single IMP 5864). It reached # 2 on the Adult Contempory Chart, and # 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 on 9-22-1962. He didn't really like this song, he found it egotistical, because his legendary modesty. It was adapted with French lyrics by Ralph Bernet, under the title "L'idole des jeunes". Sung by French singer Johnny Hallyday, and released on 10-20-1962, it was a big hit in Europe, N° 1 in France, N° 2 in Belgium. L'idole des jeunes remained the nickname of this French singer throughout his life. They were two singers truly adored by their audience : Rick Nelson : May 8, 1940 ~ December 31, 1985 & Johnny Hallyday : June 15, 1943 ~ December 6, 2017.
